Anthony Bourdain and Paula Deen

What to say about the less than charitable words Anthony Bourdain had for his chef colleague Paula Deen? And of Paula Deen's rebuttal?

It's unclear exactly where the hostility came from, but one thing is clear: he won't be using any Paula Deen recipes any time soon.

I don't understand why celebrities like Anthony Bourdain find it necessary to publicly denounce the work of other people. Yes, it may generate buzz in the short term, but what will people remember about his words? What sort of taste does it leave in the mouth of those who come across his spiteful words today (certainly not anything buttery, Ms. Deen's signature ingredient).

My tip to Anthony Bourdain: expressions of bitterness never suit a person very well, and certainly not in such a public way. Let posterity remember you for being interesting, not insulting.

Your thoughts on Anthony Bourdain and Paula Deen's recent tiff?
